Freelance Travel and Lifestyle Editor

As a freelance travel and lifestyle editor my work covers the many, multifaceted iterations of the role; from strategic to day-to-day.

This includes end-to-end production of books and magazines; month-by-month publishing schedules for online platforms; commissioning unique and thought-provoking articles; working with journalists and copywriters to refine features according to publication tone; and final responsibility for proofreading before sharing with the world.

I’ve done it poolside in Sri Lanka, overlooking the Bosphorus in Istanbul, on a train zipping from London to Brighton, 35,000 feet high flying over Saudi Arabia, and here – on an Athens hotel rooftop (pictured). There’s really nowhere that the job can’t be done from. But, for avoidance of doubt, I’m also very happy settled into an office space, cappuccino in hand.

Past and present roles as one/other/all forms of an editor’s wide job description include with Citizen Femme, Lonely Planet, BSkyB and YUNG magazine.
